With Wren’s due date (April 5) so close to Hite’s birthday (April 13), I knew there was no way we could have a party for him very close to his birthday. So I decided to have his party a few weeks before his birthday. I figured he’d never suspect it so far in advance, and I was right! He was totally surprised, and I think he really liked it. I wish I could’ve gotten a picture of his face when he came out, but something was going on with the camera, so I missed it, darn it! Anyways, he was really cute about the whole thing and especially loved the piñata—that’s all he’s ever wanted at a birthday party, and I finally decided to splurge and get him one. For his official birthday we had a small family party where he got his long-awaited skateboard and had strawberry cake. Having cake with pink frosting didn’t deter him one bit! :) We love you, sweet Hite Boy, and are so happy that you came to our family 6 years ago today. You bring so much love and laughter wherever you go. We love the way you snap, whistle, and dance all the time—it’s so… YOU! Happy Birthday, Buddy!
