Gila Valley Temple Open House

When we heard about the Gila Valley Temple Open House, we didn’t really even consider going because Wren was only a few weeks old. But then one day we were like, “why not?” All the reasons I had for not going just didn’t seem very important when compared with all the benefits of going. So one day after school and work, we loaded up all the kids, picked up Sonic to eat on the road, and headed for Safford…Thatcher…Pima…Central…whatever.

Rilla LOVED the Angel Moroni, HATED the disposable booties we had to put on before entering the temple. She actually threw a tantrum inside the temple. Nice. The guides were very kind about it and said she could just walk around in her tights instead. Elly’s favorite part was the GORGEOUS chandelier in the celestial room. Hite’s favorite part was the cool baptismal font with all the oxen underneath. Matt and I loved being in that beautiful place with our 4 sweet kids, knowing that they are ours forever.

Same here!! It was so worth it to be able to sit in the celestial room with our kids, NOW (rather than at some future date when they are all old enough). For our kids at least, The Gila Valley temple will always be the first temple they've been inside. Except for that time Anna had to go to the bathroom at Redlands, but that shouldn't really count...
