4 Years Old

Rilla was so excited for her birthday this year. Every time we saw anything pink at the store she would ask, "can I have that for my birthday?" She even wanted a golf club holder that was pink. :) She is at that fun princess stage where she loves all things princess, pink, or pretty (and preferably all 3!) She cracks us up with the things she says sometimes. Recently I asked her to put some toys away that she had played with and she responded (with her mouth wide open in a teenagerish gasp), "Ah! There's yike, a thousand of them!" She LOOOVES Wren so much, and always does the Wrenny-Girl cheer that she made up: "Wrenny-Girl, Wrenny-Girl, Wrenny Gir-irl!" She is still our little scaredy cat, and while a little frustrating at times, we can't help but roll our eyes and laugh when she is terrified of things like wind, kittens, getting "bathtized*," and the game Don't Eat Pete (the yelling, you know). Rilla Roo, you make our lives so happy and fun. We love you the MOST!

*She really is so afraid of getting baptized, and brings it up often. I have reassured her many times that she does not have to get baptized until she is ready, but it still worries her. One day she said to me out of the blue, "Mommy, I don't want to get bathtized, but I do want to follow Jesus." The look on her face was so serious and concerned, it just made me cry! I told her how Heavenly Father was so proud of her for following Jesus already, and not to worry about getting baptized right now. Sweet little thing!

Melody!!

I always LOVE reading stories about your darling children!! They are so amazing! :-)

I can't believe that Jackson will be 4 in March, I'm so excited!! His inexplicable, but very real, fear right now is being baptized!! Thank you so much for adding this part about Rilla, it helped me understand that Jackson is normal!! Ha Ha He is deathly afraid of water, and tells me all the time how he doesn't want to be baptized and go under the water. Thanks for your suggestion of telling him that Heavenly Father is so proud of him for wanting to follow Jesus!!

You're the best!! Thanks!

Love ya,
Janelle
